Oasis
A long,
long time ago
When I was just a child
I started on a journey
That left me stranded
In the wild
My family took me on a trip
While we were in the car
We broke down in the desert
With nothing near or far
As everyone
around me
Was scurrying about
I was just too little
To even help them out
Things
worked out
As they always do
We got back on the road
But I was left in the desert
To now fend on my own
For so
many years
I've been in that desert
Struggling to survive
With only the skills
Of that little child
Ahead
I see some palm trees
Ooh--and water too!
After wandering in circles
I now know what to do
So now
I travel back and forth
To the desert I knew so well
To nurture and save that little child
Once stranded in that hell
So now
we journey hand in hand
Our path has twists and turns
But we focus on that Oasis
And the riches it will return
We've
learned a lot--both she and I
Though life's journey never ends
We take the time to enjoy the view
With the peaceful serenity it lends
